Costa Rica - Ecotourism and Nature

Costa Rica Fauna

Costa Rica Fauna

Few places of the globe offer in such a small extension so many wonders. In only 51,100 square kilometers, Costa Rica shelters 6% of all the biodiversity of the planet. The geographic location of our country allows the existence of a biological bridge of botanical and zoological species. The narrow territory surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean creates a passage that as much lodges flora and fauna of North America as of South America, in addition to great amount of endemic species.

The respect of the Costa Ricans towards nature has made that more than 25% of the territory is mainly protected under some category of handling such as National Parks, Biological Reservoirs and National Refuges of Wild Life. Its climate is one of great attractiveness; throughout the year offers a pleasant temperature which keeps its inhabitants motivated, a pacific life allows the tourist to explore and to venture with total tranquility. In addition, the size of its territory favours traveling, in less than a day, from the Pacific to the Caribbean. From mountains and plains located to the north of the country, the South, central or North Pacific, to the Caribbean and the Central Region, the complete country offers him/her the most varied range of options and fun.
