Wedding was great… if price is no object

A word to the wise about Weddings Costa Rica- If you are looking for an advocate to get you the best deal, Larissa Banting in NOT for you. Everything was beautiful, but it cost a fortune. The hotel we stayed at was about $300 a night. We just assumed that’s what it cost, but booked a room for an additional guest later and got a 25% discount because of the wedding. I’m guessing Larissa pocketed that discount for the rooms we booked through her. Her fee was $2500 under the pretense that there would be no kickbacks down the road. Those rooms cost us a couple of thousand dollars more than they should have. If she’s going to take a commission off of everything, she should say so up front, because to pretend her fee is the entire expense is, in a word, dishonest. Also, if you book your honeymoon through latitude adventures as she will doubtless recommend, keep in mind that she is a part owner in it. We learned this after the fact. As I said before, everything was beautiful. It was just that we felt as though we had been scammed by the end of it.
