Costa Rica Air Access
Costa Rica Air Access
Getting to Costa Rica is easy. Located on the Central American isthmus, between Nicaragua and Panama, it is at the midway point of the Western Hemisphere a mere 2.5-hour flight south of Miami and about the same from the northern part of South America.
Several major airlines offer daily, direct flights from hub sides in the United States, Central and South America and Europe. Other carriers connect to Costa Rica through these hubs. Most flights land in the Central Valley at one of the two terminals of the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), near San José. A second international airport, Daniel Oduber, recently opened in the northwest province of Guanacaste, just outside the provincial capital of Liberia.
