The history of the first gallery of art in Latin America in Internet initiates in the ninety decade; when the world-wide web was hypothetically in diapers and where the access to the latest technology was not yet stablished in the main countries of the world.In 1992; Octubre 8 starts a breach in the computer world that grouped the arduous work of the company iCR, S.A. (Internet Costa Rica, S.A.) and different professionals from the University of Costa Rica that in an amalgam of ideas with the artists founders of the gallery, conciliated the first version of the website which resided at http://www.icr.co.cr/octubre8 With any doubt, Octubre 8 has made history as a gallery, it has made history in the artistic field in Costa Rica, and in this first electronic instance reached the memories of the engineers of long ago who even wait for the blink of that “eye” that saw the light on a day like this 12 years ago.
