Carlos Poveda
Carlos Poveda was born in 1940 in San Jose, Costa Rica. He became known early during the sixties when he had several one man shows throughout the American Continent, where he obtained important prizes at the VIII Sao Paulo Art Biennial, Brazil, and in Costa Rica he was awarded a National Prize for painting. In 2004 in Costa Rica he was awarded a National Prize for Sculpture. After living in Venezuela the last 30 years he presently lives and works in Paris.
